Call for Contributions
The KES Covid-19 Challenge is an international virtual summit bringing together technologists, engineers, economists, managers and others who can contribute to the subject, to discuss ways to mitigate against the effects of Covid-19, but further, to build a more resilient economy and society able to better resist sporadic and continuing disasters.
The event will take place over one day, and will feature invited thought pieces from experts in the field, and also contributions in the form of 20 minute presentations from researchers and others working in the field. It is intended that one outcome of the summit will be a volume of proceedings published in the KES Springer book series 'Advances in Sustainability Science and Technology'.
Submission of Abstracts
Submissions should be extended abstracts of between one and two pages length (one page minimum) following the format shown .. here ..
Abstracts should be submitted as PDF documents through the PROSE online submission and review system.
If accepted, authors will be invited to extend the abstract into a chapter to be published later in 2021 in a volume of the KES-Springer series 'Advances in Sustainability Science and Technology' entitled
'Smart and Sustainable Technologies for Resilient Cities and Communities'
editors R.J.Howlett, L.C.Jain, J.R.Littlewood and M.M.Balas.
Submission of full chapters for review will be expected by 14 May 2021.
For authors who do not wish to submit a full chapter there will be the opportunity to have their abstract published in the KES KOALA online archive.
Submission Conditions
All oral and poster papers must be presented by one of the authors who must register for the conference and pay the fee.
By submitting a paper for the conference authors undertake that, if the paper is accepted, they will pay the fee, attend the conference, and present the paper.
By submitting a paper you also indicate that you accept the KES Terms and Conditions, available .. here .. on the conference web site, and that you agree to abide by them.
